Kip Scholarship 2008
In April 2007 we adopted a scholarship format which has run successfully for many years at Kip McGrath Education Centres in New Zealand. Each term we offer a scholarship to a different Chorley primary school. This entitles one student to a full term’s weekly tuition in English or maths, at absolutely no cost.
Our third scholarship student, for the spring term 2008, was Tiffany from Buckshaw Primary School.
Mrs Fiona Pattison, deputy headteacher:
"We were really pleased to be selected for the scholarship. Lots of children applied. The young lady chosen has continued to grow in confidence. We would only be too pleased to apply for the scholarship again in the near future."
Our fourth scholarship student, for the summer term 2008, was Joshua from Gillibrand Primary School.
Mrs Sharon Franklin, headteacher:
"Kip Scholarship has been a very positive support to the children's learning. The administration process is not an onerous one and is far outweighed by the benefits to the children."
Our fifth scholarship student, for the autumn term 2008, was Abigail from St James' CE Primary School.
Mrs Linda Roberts, headteacher:
"St James' CE Primary School was pleased to participate in the Kip McGrath scholarship scheme. The process is a simple one for the school and the child who was awarded the scholarship has enjoyed her sessions and is now more confident in her maths."
