Kip Scholarship 2009
In April 2007 we adopted a scholarship format which has run successfully for many years at Kip McGrath Education Centres in New Zealand. Each term we offer a scholarship to a different Chorley primary school. This entitles one student to a full term’s weekly tuition in English or maths, at absolutely no cost.
Our sixth scholarship student, for the spring term 2009, is Jack from Eccleston Primary School.
Mrs Elizabeth Fletcher, headteacher:
"Eccleston Primary School has been delighted to be selected for the Kip McGrath scholarship this term. The administration for school was very easy, and not at all time consuming. A number of parents were interested in taking up this opportunity, and Jack was fortunate enough to be awarded the scholarship. He has enjoyed his sessions, and it has given him confidence and a positive attitude to his work. I would recommend this scheme to any other schools."
Our seventh scholarship student, for the summer term 2009, is Ben from Euxton Primrose Hill Primary School.
Mr Christopher Shields, headteacher:
"The whole process was so easy and it allowed us to award Ben with an ideal opportunity, as he and his family were so interested. He really enjoyed his time with the staff at Kip McGrath and has progressed well this year. His efforts in school, combined with his support from Kip McGrath have played an important part in ensuring this pleasing level of progress."
Our eighth scholarship student, for the autumn term 2009, is Elle from Brinscall St John's CE Primary School.
Miss Annette Cupit, headteacher:
"It is clear that Elle has grown in confidence and has made the most of the opportunities offered to her via the Kip McGrath scholarship. She has made a sub-level progress this term alone, in both Literacy and Numeracy. Her mum and staff at school are delighted. Thanks for all you have done to help Elle."
